AWS stands for Alternate Win Score, the best linear box-score metric for both predicting and explaining wins. All stats are per-36 minutes.
- LeBron on the other hand, is a bit better WITH Wade, then without. The primary reason for this, is unlike Wade, LeBron's assists INCREASE when playing with his superstar teammate. This indicates that LeBron is the primary ball-handler both with/without Wade, and his assist increase could indicate a higher quality of teammate on the court (Wade).
- Wade's AWS score WITHOUT LeBron ranks 6th in the NBA, while his score WITH LeBron ranks 11th. LeBron's score ranks 1st regardless.
- Both LeBron and Wade experience an increase in TS% and a decrease in Turnovers when playing with each other. Both also score less points when sharing the court. Expected.
- LeBron's rebounding remains constant, while Wade's skydives once joining LeBron on the court. Interesting.
The key though, is that the Miami Heat are better when BOTH are playing. As evidenced by the above table, the Heat are pretty good with Wade running the show, better with LeBron, and the best with both of them.
