To determine how serious Bosh's case is, I compared him to 5 of the greatest big men to ever play the game. Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, David Robinson, Tim Duncan, and Patrick Ewing. The reasoning being, if Bosh can stack up to these guys, who are the class of the HOF, then he clearly belongs.
There were 3 basic categories I used when comparing these players. The first was assist/turnover ratio (measured in percentages), to determine how good a play-maker they were. The second was total rebounding percentages, for rebounding obviously. The last was True Shooting Percentage, to see which were the best/worst scorers.
All stats are playing time and pace adjusted, and only account for each player's first 10 seasons, since Bosh is only in his 10th season.
Clearly, Bosh is a Hall of Fame caliber player. While its always best not to boast in front of the media, Chris had a genuine point when he said he's a HOFer easily. In fact, I'm going to put myself out there, and say Bosh will finish ahead of Ewing and Malone in terms of all time greatness, when all is said and done.
